KS2 (Years 3-6)
This is a key age group as children build upon the foundations laid in KS1. They will develop a very clear view of themselves as learners and will have formed an idea of where they rank in relation to their classmates in all subjects.
Confidence is crucial in this area. Lost confidence in a subject can lead to children worrying about making mistakes in a classroom environment in front of their teachers and peers. Being with a one-to-one tutor allows children to feel comfortable and confident to ‘have a go’, enabling them to see that mistakes can be learning opportunities.
Many parents comment on how maths in KS2 is not taught how it used to be. This can then make it difficult to support children at home. More complex language and subject knowledge is introduced. The terminology used in SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) lessons may be very unfamiliar to many parents.
Our tutors are experienced in working with KS2 children and are experts with all current terminology and teaching approaches. Gaps in knowledge will be quickly identified and lessons taught accordingly.
